Oliver Peoples was founded in Los Angeles in 1987, when it opened its first boutique on Sunset Boulevard. The brand's initial inspiration was a collection of vintage American frames, which it combined with the aesthetic of Hollywood, architecture, music, and the laid-back lifestyle of Southern California.

The eyewear is characterized by perfectly balanced proportions, high-quality acetate and titanium, delicate filigree details, and almost invisible branding. Individual models are precisely crafted in Italy and Japan, with great attention paid to handcrafting, polishing, and wearing comfort.
